Goal
To enhance the current user experience for admin users who are creating and setting up performance reviews templates on a daily to weekly basis.
Problem
Based on feedback from our clients who interact regularly with our Client success team, we found that the current platform’s performance review function on our platform is not intuitive and does not allow admin users to create and set up performance reviews in the quickest and easiest way. There is also no way for users to track their data.
Strategy
Revamp the entire Performance Review through brainstorming task flows and requirements and coming up with new features to enhance the user experience.
Current Feature
This series of images show how admin users currently perform tasks such as creating/editing/viewing a performance review.
It requires multiple clicks for users to perform their task. There are also plenty of unnecessary icons.
Admin users have to manually key in all questions and there is no consistency when it comes to selecting the question types and benchmarking the response data.
Research


I collaborated with the VP of Product on task flows and requirements for the new feature and I came up with the Lo-fi and High-fi wireframes. Collaborative work done on Miro.

Through our brainstorming sessions, we decided to revamp the entire Performance Review feature by separating it into two categories: Review Prep, Review Cycles, Review Analytics and One-on-Ones. In addition to that, we also came up with a couple of new features such as the Question Bank, Competencies and Review Analytics tab.
Question Bank
The Question Bank allows users (manager and admin) to perform tasks such as:
Create new template via selecting questions from the question bank
View/edit/archive/create questions
View/edit/archive/create categories
View tags
View archived questions
View HelloTeam recommended questions



Performance Review
This screen allows users (manager and admin) to have a high-level view of their review preparation and review cycle set-up. Users are able to:
View/edit review process
View total number of categories, questions and tags in the question bank and competencies tab.
View total number of active/draft/archived templates
Templates
The template feature allows users (manager and admin) to be able to access all their templates in the system.
Users are able to:
View/edit templates
Add new templates
Pin/duplicate templates
Review Process
The Review Process feature allows users (manager and admin) to be able to pre set-up the entire review process before they launch the performance review.



Admin Panel
The super Admin is a secondary persona that I had to design for. This is how it would look when they log into the system to perform super Admin task such as adding questions to the questions bank.
